Mark and Amber's boat

Sunday we went and spent the day at my brother Mark and his wife Amber's boat. It was such a beautiful day. We had so much fun. We spent the afternoon swimming in the pool at the marina. We grilled dinner and than took a boat ride and got some ice cream in Grand Haven. This is Cole and his older cousin Addison(6 days older). They were so cute together. They are doing so many of the same things.
Makalynn had so much fun playing with Hallie for the afternoon. They stayed very busy swimming. They were taking a little snack break.
There was a party going on near the pool. There was a lot of music playing. The girls spent a long time dancing together near the big speakers. They were so cute!!!

Silver Lake Sand Dunes

We went to Silver Lake sand dunes for a day with the VanderWal family. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. We wish everyday of the summer could be spent doing things with friends and family. We took Justin's parents jeep and the VanderWal's took their Bronco.
Cole loves Grandpa's jeep. You would think he would think it was to windy and bumpy but not Mr. Cole J. He loved it!!!
This is Makalynn's friend Tessa. She is a couple months older than Makalynn. They have so much fun together. Makalynn rode in their Bronco the whole time. She didn't even ride in the jeep once because she wanted to ride with Tessa. They were both a little scared when Jason went up the first big sand dune "test hill" but they said they liked the little ones.
In between riding around in the dunes we spent sometime on the beach. The lake was very cold but there was a lot of big puddles all over that the kids had tons of fun playing in.
Makalynn and Tessa found a big sand hole that someone dug and they thought it was very fun to sit in the middle of it. We had a very fun day. Days like that always go by to quickly but they sure make good memories!!!

Blueberries

We went and picked blueberries. Makalynn and Cole were very excited when we got home and began to wash them. They ate more blueberries than they have eaten in their whole lives. YUMMMY!!!

Cole was so proud of himself the more blueberries he could eat the better!!! And he could do it all by himself all he needed was a chair!!

Cole's First Haircut

Cole had his very first haircut. It was starting to get long in the back and over the ears. He did pretty good. Makalynn went first so he could see how his big sister did it. He wounldn't sit in the chair by himself so he sat on my lap. He looked like a very handsome man when it was all finished.

Daddy's Girl

Makalynn's favorite person to swim with is her daddy. They have so much fun together. If daddy walks into the pool area Makalynn runs and gets his swimsuit from the bag and brings it to him. Daddy has just as much fun as Makalynn teaching her to swim, jumping with her, and giving her rides on his back. Daddy claims she is going to make it to the olympics by 2024!!!!

Grandma's and Grandpa's Pool

Makalynn loves swimming at Grandma and Grandpa VanEerden's pool. We usually visit the pool 2 to 3 times a week at least. Makalynn thinks she is a very big girl because as she says it " it is easy you just say 1-2-3 jump" and of you go.......
SPLASH!!!!! She just started jumpin off the diving board and she loves it!!!
She is in the pool as much as she can. My little fish!!!
She loves her pink goggles...for GIRLS!!!
Makalynn loves her Grandpa. She thinks it is so fun when he comes swimming with her. They like to play monsters and when Grandpa catches her he kisses her. (It is the only time in her life it is okay for her to play boys catch the girls and kiss them.)

Chicken Pox

It's official Cole J. has the chicken pox's. I noticed a few spots on him on Sunday and didn't think much of it. Monday when I picked him up from work he was covered in red spots. I called the doctor and he wanted to see him. I thought he was allergic to the antibiotic he was one but surprise he has chicken pox. He is being such a trooper. They haven't stopped him yet. They don't seem to bother him. The doctor said the don't really start to itch until day 3 and 4 so we will see what tomorrow brings. Now we just wait for Makalynn to come down with them as well. He is a cute little spotted boy. His new nickname at our house is spot!!

KING

After dinner one night when I was cleaning up from dinner Cole J. thought it would be fun to climb up on the table and be KING!!
He was so proud of himself. I was so surprised he climbed up. Makalynn of course thought she needed to join him.

He wasn't sure if he was really suppose to be up there at first. I think he was surprised he really made it up!!

Memorial Day at Grandpa's Cabin

Daddy made a swing for the tree and it was a hit!! It was big enough for two!!

Everyone had fun riding golf carts and 4 wheelers. Makalynn and Cole were constantly trying to get anyone they could to take them for a ride.Cole's favorite word for the weekend was mama. He was a mommy's boy all weekend.

The kids had tons of fun riding 4 wheelers. Makalynn cried when it was time to come home and told us she wanted to live at the cabin!!

Bathroom Fun

Makalynn thought that it was time to get ready. We were going to the mall on a Saturday evening. We heard some water running and went into the bathroom and this is what we found waiting for us. She told us she was just getting ready to go away. She was using hand soap to wash her hair and top half of her body. We laughed and rinsed her in the sink. We told her it was funny this time but next time it wouldn't be so funny!!

EASTER 2008

We decorated Easter eggs. Mommy made me do it in my underwear so that I wouldn't get any of the dye on my clothes
These two were my favorite. I loved my eggs. I even took them to bed with me at night.
We had an Easter egg hunt on Sat. morning. This was one of the eggs I found! I was so proud of myself

PRESENT TIME

Wow look at this big gift is this for me?
Cole got a little tikes ride and rescue car to play with outside this summer! It was from Grandma and Grandpa Dryer, Great Grandpa Weemhoff, and Uncle Brad, Aunt Lisa and my cousin Emma!
I also got a Tonka truck bulldozer and Rumble truck from Uncle Mark, Aunt Amber, Hallie, and Addison!

Aunt Laura, Uncle Ty, Aunt Michelle, Uncle Jason, Zach, and Alyssa gave me a water table to play with. My mom is going to set it up in the basement for me until I can take it outside this summer.

Cole had such a fun first birthday!! Thanks to all his wonderful and special family who love him so much!!
